Turkey’s grass king
For Turkey’s only and first turf grass producer Ali Riza UNAL, We can asily say Turkey’s “King of Grass”. Mr.UNAL says “I decided my life to this business”. Mr UNAL produces grass seeds in his factory and uses this seeds in his own lands for turfgrass production.Mr.UNAL’s produced grass seeds turning over a modern turfgrasses in the landed property.That 630,000 squaremeters in GEBZE-ÇAYIROVA &theyre making the world greener.
Produced grasses using at the football(soccer)fields,parks,gardens,golf fields, villa gardens & other outdoor spaces that landscape architectures recommended. ”I maket he grass ,imports are getting scale down” said Ali Riza UNAL. Mr.UNAL is producing all different kind of grasses for different kind of belt (climates) in Turkey.
Ali Riza UNAL was studying and finishing the chemical engineering at the school. But however he was a farmers son and he was getting curious about seeding. So he went to Germany,to study Plant Genetics in Köln University.
By the time he was making researchs,in 1970 he opened a factory in Eskişehir; that produceses grass seeds.That was the first and only Grass seeding factory in Turkey. Mr.UNAL was interesting in produced turfgrass to using the arranging the green fields for 3 years. Mr.UNAL is saying with a proud;that he selling the turfgrass 8 Dolar for a square meter,while the turfgrass is selling by 25-30 Dolar for a squaremeter and how he prevent the lost of foreign Exchange.
So long Ali Riza UNAL worked with over 500 landscape architectures.He made Galatasaray’s Florya Institution &Silivri Klasis Otel’s Golf field,ext. so many other field to have grassed.
UNAL & his company are working in a field that big as 60 football (soccer) fields.UNAL says;”Watering troubles making hard to work productive.The ground is so close to the sea,thats maket he water came to our wells salty. Its a problem for us.”With the special machines we make the solid ready for a sow,than we sow the seeds with the special machines.After we sow,we are meching the special nettings that we imported from USA. Those nettings is for keeping the grasses together when the grasses grow,carrying them while they are rolled,so they wont get fall apart.
After that were making the watering twice a day.Fertilized once in a month periodicly.Also every week there is a cutting.Later on,mostly in a 4 month turfgrass is getting ready fort he munching.
